Yes, because we collect a different type of royalty. Labels and distributors handle recordings, while publishing administrators focus on compositions.

How Long Does it Take to Start Collecting?

We collect royalties from a variety of revenue sources, each with its own timeline. After signing up and accumulating royalties ready for collection, it typically takes 9-12 months to be fully registered worldwide and to receive your first payment. Once royalties begin coming in, you will receive payments at the end of each quarter.

How much does it cost?

We charge a one-time fee of $69 per songwriter to cover song monitoring and administrative costs. Additionally, we take a 15% commission on any performance royalties collected and 15% on non-performance royalties (worldwide mechanical royalties) collected on your behalf.

How Far Back Can You Collect For Me?

Most of the societies we collect from can forward royalties from the past 1-2 years. While we may occasionally be able to collect retroactive royalties, we cannot guarantee this. The ability to collect retroactive royalties depends on the individual societies and may be influenced by previous publishing agreements. To improve your chances, it's best to add as many titles as possible to your account, including accurate co-writer details, splits, and any relevant ISRC/recording information. If we're successful in collecting retroactive royalties, the payment will likely arrive two to three quarters after your first royalty statement.

How Often Do You Pay?

Sirius Rights distributes royalties quarterly (four times a year), provided you meet our threshold minimum and have valid tax information on file. Payments are typically made in the last week of each quarter, via bank transfer or PayPal, as outlined in our full schedule. Please note that actual payment dates may vary.
